The US Wine critic Robert Parker has just announced he was giving the perfect 100 points score to the iconic Hommage à Jacques Perrin: “Perfect 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin. I don’t know what more a wine could offer. It should again be almost ageless in its potential.”In fact, Robert Parker loves Rhone Valley and this is no secret: This article in Wall Street Journal is another confirmation. And after 1989, 1990, 1998 and 2007 vintages, Chateau de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin receives another perfect 100 points score from Robert Parker.

After becoming, last year, the first non-Bordeaux French wine to be offered by Bordeaux-based négociants, this announcement confirms the prestigious status it gained through decades. In fact, together with the rare first growths Bordeaux wines, Hommage a Jacques Perrin has become one of the few wines in the world to get regularly the perfect 100 points score over the last 25 years. Vintages 1989, then 1990, 1998, 2007, and now 2010…they all received 100 points by Robert Parker. Only produced in exceptional vintages, this wine – a tribute to family member Jacques Perrin – is the Famille Perrin’s most collectible wine with a legendary status.

Marc Perrin : “Hommage à Jacques Perrin is extremely demanded. The main reason we decided to put some Hommage on the place of Bordeaux is because we are always saying ‘no’ to people who are asking to buy Hommage. Now everyone can contact Bordeaux negociants to buy some and get at the same time a guarantee on the provenance.”

Robert Parker also wrote about this wine: “There are only 500 cases of this legend in the making, but for those lucky enough to find any, it will last for 40-60 years. Kudos to one of the world’s great winemaking families! ” Member of the Primum Familiae Vini association (which only includes Château Mouton Rothschild, Antinori, Maison Joseph Drouhin, Egon Müller Scharzhof, Hugel & Fils, Pol Roger, Symington Family, Tenuta San Guido, Bodegas Torres and Vega Sicilia), Chateau de Beaucastel has been run by several generations of Famille Perrin since the acquisition in 1909.
